Mark Wahlberg, son of Korean War veteran Donald E. Wahlberg, is the brother of singing sensation Donnie Wahlberg. He recorded some rap songs and did a brief stint as an underwear model as "Marky Mark" beginning an acting career with "Renaissance Man" (1994).

Comments on 9/11 incident

Originally scheduled to be on a flight that crashed into the World Trade Center, he luckily had caught a flight to Toronto instead. In 2006, the action star said, "We certainly would have tried to do something to fight. I've had probably over 50 dreams about it."

In Men’s Journal he said,

  • If I was on that plane with my kids, it wouldn't have went down like it did. There would have been a lot of blood in that first-class cabin and then me saying, ‘OK, we’re going to land somewhere safely, don’t worry.’

After complaints by families of 9/11 victims, Wahlberg apologized, saying:

  • To speculate about such a situation is ridiculous to begin with, and to suggest I would have done anything differently than the passengers on that plane was irresponsible. I deeply apologize to the families of the victims that my answer came off as insensitive; it was certainly not my intention.
