Nathaniel Weyl worked as an economist for the Agricultural Adjustment Administration, 1933–1935, the Federal Research Board, 1940–1941, the Board of Economic Warfare, 1941–1943, and the Department of Commerce, 1945–1947. In 1950 he published Treason: The Story of Disloyalty and Betrayal in American History (Washington: Public Affairs Press), and in 1952 he published The Battle Against Disloyalty (New York: Thomas Y. Crowell). He had previously given testimony to the House Un-American Activities Committee in 1943 and the Internal Security Subcommittee of the Senate Judiciary Committee in 1952.

He was the son of Walter Weyl.
