The Old Testament is, in essence, the collection of different books comprising the Jewish religious scriptures. It documents the creation of the world by God, and the tribulations and errors of human beings, in particular His chosen people the Israelites. Christians, however, see it as a statement of the prehistory of Jesus Christ.
