Omar Mateen (1986 – 2016) was an American Muslim of Afghan descent
[1] who 49 people and wounded 53 in the deadliest mass shooting in American history. The shooting occurred on June 12, 2016 at a nightclub specialized to homosexuals in
Orlando, Florida. Mateen was born in New Hyde Park, New York, of Afghan parents. During the shooting, he called 911 to pledged his allegiance to the
ISIS terror group.

Democrat.
