Pablo Neruda (born Neftali Ricardo Reyes Basoalto, 1904-1973) was a Chilean poet and diplomat. He was also known for his Communist views, which led to him being exiled to Italy during the 1950s, though he would later return to Chile later in his life. He is most famous for his poem collection Twenty Poems of Love and a Song of Despair.
In 1971, Pablo Neruda won the Nobel Prize for Literature.
