The '''Interstate 92''' plan would take over the I88 Extension plan above and continue to travel parallel to U.S. Route 4 to Sharon VT; then travel with I89 to [[ Concord, New Hampshire | Concord NH]]; then parallel to U.S. Route 202 all the way to [[ Calais, Maine| Calais ME]] and Canada. The path the road follows in Maine has not been yet been fully decided.

The only parts of the I92 that have been built are U.S. Route 4 in VT was upgraded to limited access between the VT/NY line and [[ Rutland, Vermont | Rutland VT]]. I 393 was built in [[ Concord, New Hampshire | Concord NH]], I395 was built in[[Bangor, Maine | Bangor ME]] and a new bridge was built across the Mohawk River, in [[Schenectady, New York | Schenectady NY]], that connects with I-90 Thruway exit 26, I-890, and the existing I-88.
