Rowan Williams

Rowan Douglas Williams was born in Swansea, Wales, United Kingdom into a Welsh speaking family on June 14, 1950. He studied Theology at Christ's College, Cambridge University.

Rowan Williams was elected Archbishop of Wales in December of 1999 and enthroned at St. Woolos Cathedral in Febuary of 2000. On July 23, 2002, Dr. Williams was elected as Archbishop of Canterbury. He was enthroned as the 104th Archbishop of Canterbury in Febuary 2003 in the Canterbury Cathedral.
