Savannah is a very old city in Chatham County, Georgia; it sits on the Atlantic Ocean.
In the Civil War it escaped major damage. It was captured by Union General William T. Sherman in December and presented as a Christmas present to the nation.
Similarly to Florida and Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, Savannah attracts a lot of visitors from the Northeast, Midwest, and even Europe, Canada, South America, and Asia.
