Episode I garnered mostly mixed to negative reviews.
Trivia
- Many child actors auditioned for the role of Anakin Skywalker. Among theme were Justin Berfield (Malcolm in the Middle) and Michael Angrarano. Berfield's audition tape and Angrarano meeting with George Lucas can be seen in the extras for the Episode I DVD/Blu-Ray.
- This is the first film in which C-3PO does not appear in the closing scene of the movie. It is also the only movie where Anthony Daniels does not wear a suit.
