IMDb profile

The Avengers is a 2012 superhero film, based on the Marvel Comics series The Avengers. It was released to theaters on May 4, 2012. It is produced by Marvel Studios and is the first Marvel Comics film adaptation to be distributed by Disney, Marvel's new parent company (although the logo for Paramount Pictures, former distributor of Marvel Studios films, appears on marketing materials and in the film's opening titles in place of the Disney logo). The movie is a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a series of films produced independently by Marvel which are set in the same universe.

Liberal messages

The film denies the Christian position by including the characters of Thor and Loki, who are actual Norse demigods. This is an example of the atheist and liberal bias of Hollywood. Although the character of Captain America is shown to refuse to recognize the characters as gods in the film; in a scene in which a character warns him of their demigod powers, he responds, "There's only one God, and I'm pretty sure he dosen't dress like that!".

In another liberal theme, the film portrays the U.S. military as corrupt and unscrupulous. An example of this is their decision in the film to launch a nuclear attack on their own people in order to put an end to a military conflict. This is an example of Hollywood's extreme dislike and prejudice of America's military.
