The Talented Mr. Ripley is a novel written by Patricia Highsmith in the 1950s about an insidious and utterly captivating homosexual man who uses deceit and murder to attain a life of wealth and status.
The book was adapted twice for the cinema. The first adaptation, Purple Noon, was created in the liberal culture of 1960s France and stars Alain Delon in the title role.[1] It took nearly 40 more years before an American version, starring Matt Damon, crept its way onto American screens.[2] Holding true to Hollywood values and its promotion of the homosexual agenda, the film was nominated for five Academy Awards, as well as many Golden Globes and other citations.[3]
