The University of Glasgow was founded in 1451 in Glasgow, Scotland, making it the fourth-oldest university in the English-speaking world and one of Scotland's four ancient universities.
Governance
The leadership of the University of Glasgow is divided among three offices:
- The Chancellor is the titular head of the University and President of the General Council.
- The Principal has day-to-day management responsibilities.
- The Rector who holds office for a three-year term and chairs the University Court. The Rector is elected by the student body and is currently Edward Snowden. Milo Yiannopoulos who resigned from Breitbart.com after advocating pedophilia is currently a candidate to succeed Snowden.[1]
