Zombies, within literature and film, are reanimated corpses resurrected by mystical or biochemical means. They have their origins in voodoo folklore, in which voodoo priests would raise the dead to do their bidding. Night Of The Living Dead introduced the concept of zombies attacking and consuming the flesh of the living.
