The Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) is a Marxist terror organization in Columbia. It has between 18,000 and 43,000 fighters.
History
From 1948, militant conservative, liberal and communist groups fought against each other. In 1964 the Colombian army and the CIA won control over the cities. But on the 5th May of 1966, the militant communists formed a guerilla organization, called the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia. A second group was founded under the name Ejército de Liberación Nacional in 1964. In the October of 2012 peace talks between the FARC and the government begun. Nevertheless the attacks are continuing.[1]
Human rights
The organization obtains its money from drug trade and extortion. FARC is often criticized because child soldiers are fighting in the conflict.
