Issues
Issues with the Islamic Fascist Republic 2026[1]
- Nuclear weapons:
After failed Obama deals and post Midnight Hammer operation, the issue with genocidal Iran (who since the 1990s vowed to wipe Israel off the map) is the no.1 issue including by its Arab neighbors.
- Violent Suppression of Domestic Dissent:
The Iranian regime has engaged in a severe crackdown on protesters, with reports in early 2026 (2026 Iran massacres) of thousands of protesters killed and thousands more arrested during widespread unrest. The government frequently uses internet blackouts to hide violence against citizens.
- Regional Proxy Wars and Terrorism:
Iran is considered a leading state sponsor of terrorism, using its Quds Force to arm and train Shiite militant groups across the Middle East, including Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Houthis in Yemen, and various militias in Iraq, PIJ and backing Hamas. These actions exacerbate sectarian divisions and regional instability.
(EU's additional beef:
- Support for Russia in Ukraine:
The EU and other Western powers have strongly condemned Iran's military support for Russia, specifically the delivery of drones and missiles used in the war against Ukraine.)
- Human Rights Violations:
The regime is condemned for widespread human rights abuses, including the execution of citizens, detention of human rights defenders (such as Nobel laureate Narges Mohammadi), and strict enforcement of dress codes (hijab laws).
- Ballistic Missile Development:
Beyond nuclear ambitions, Iran possesses the largest ballistic missile program in the Middle East, which it continues to develop and supply to its allies.
