Abortifacient

Abortifacient describes the means of inducing a life-ending abortion through the use of drugs. This can happen by taking the RU-486 pill, or by injecting saline into the amniotic sac. RU-486, created by the French company Roussel Uclaf, is marketed as Mifepristone and can induce an abortion in women up to nine weeks pregnant.
