Abortion Pill Reversal
The Abortion Pill Reversal is a medical protocol designed to reverse the effects of the abortion pill. It was developed by George Delgado, M.D, F.A.A.F.P. Heartbeat International offers women the opportunity to reverse the effects via a toll-free telephone number and website.
The reversal protocol seeks to reverse the first half of the abortion pill procedure (mifepristone, commonly known as RU-486) by large quantities of progesterone (a natural hormone needed to sustain a pregnancy; progesterone is commonly prescribed for females who can't naturally produce it and who either are or want to become pregnant) to counteract its effects.
The protocol has roughly a 2/3 rate of success, but 1) it must be taken within 72 hours after taking mifepristone, and 2) it cannot be used if the woman has taken the second half of the abortion pill procedure (misoprostol, which causes the baby to be expelled from the uterus).
