The Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades is an Arab-Palestinian terror[1] organization. Description:[2]

The al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade comprises an unknown number of small cells of Fatah-affiliated activists that emerged at the outset of the current intifadah to attack Israeli targets. It aims to drive the Israeli military and settlers from the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and Jerusalem and to establish a Palestinian state.

Activities

Al-Aqsa has carried out shootings and suicide operations against Israeli military personnel and civilians and has killed Palestinians who it believed were collaborating with Israel. At least five US citizens, four of them dual Israeli-US citizens, were killed in al-Aqsa’s attacks. The group probably did not attack them because of their US citizenship. In January 2002, al-Aqsa claimed responsibility for the first suicide bombing carried out by a female.

It's an armed wing of Fatah.[3]

The group takes its name from al-Aqsa Mosque.[4]
The mosque, located in Jerusalem atop what Jews refer to as the Temple Mount and Muslims as the Noble Sanctuary, is often used as a focal point for inciting anti-Jewish violence (“Backgrounder: The Battle over Jerusalem and the Temple Mount,” July 24, 2017). Muslim tradition holds that the Prophet Muhammad ascended to heaven from the site of al-Aqsa Mosque, whose name is Arabic for “the farthest place.” Many anti-Israel organizations and individuals often claim that non-Muslims in general, and Jews in particular, want to destroy, defile or harm the mosque—to upset the status quo. Many Muslim Arab rulers, particularly Palestinians, have used these claims—termed the “al-Aqsa libel”—to incite violence and terrorism. As such, the group’s chosen name not only reflects a claim to be the “guardians of al-Aqsa,” but is clear proof of an Islamist bent which runs counter to the frequent portrayal of Fatah as “secular” or nationalistic in the Western sense of the term.

Zakaria Zubeidi

Zakaria Zubeidi swung his career between ties to radical left in Israel and cruel terror acts against Israelis.[5]

2022

On Apr 7, 2022, an Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, [6] Islamic "Palestinian" terrorist targeted a bar in Tel Aviv, first murdering two,[7] injuring others,[8] a third victim succumbed to injuries later on.[9] It was widely condemned, Abu Mazen played it both, condemning and added in "context" his propaganda,[10] in fact, he rather incited about their Al-Aqsa.[11] Other elements in Fatah celebrated it.[12]

Attacker was caught hiding near Jaffa mosque.

Apparently he prayed at the mosque (on their Ramadan), went out for his bloody murder and returned to the mosque.[13]

The father of the terrorist who carried out the attack is an officer with the rank of akid (roughly equivalent to a colonel) in the National Security Mechanism, one of the security mechanisms of the Palestinian Authority.[14] This father, from the morning on, after the attack, went out and excites the crowd who came to congratulate him on his son's attack.[15][16]

Terrorist's uncles were among the first Fatah fighters.[17][18] Thousands of Arab "Palestinians" joined march in support of him. Public address systems, via mosques, called out, "Allahu akhbar," playing "nationalist" songs, and announcing support for the terrorist and the "heroic action" which he carried out in "Tel Al-Rabia," the Arab name for Tel Aviv, the Jewish city founded in 1909 on bare stretches of sand dunes near Jaffa.[19]

Finally, the military wing of the Fatah movement, led by Abu Mazen, claimed responsibility for the attack.[3]

The British The Guardian's (unsurprising) headline "Israeli forces kill (sic) Palestinian": caused a stir, only then it was removed.[20]

Racism

On April 4, 2011, actor Juliano Mer-Khamis, son of an Arab father one (of the founders of the communists party) and a Jewish mother, previously served in the army then in later life turned Anti Israel ardent critic was gunned down by five assailants. Cofounder of their controversial theater was Zakaria Zubeidi, previously chief of the Aqsa Martyrs Brigades. Mer-Khamis used to say he is 100% Palestinian and 100% Jewish. [21][22] Referring to a proclamation that was circulated calling for his assassination, he said: "It is disgusting and smells of violent and blatant racist stench. "After all the work in the camp, it will be very unfortunate to die from a Palestinian bullet." [23]

The Brigades was of the first to praise the Palestinian terrorist ramming attack (Jerusalem February 2023) hate crime - targeted Haredim who do not even serve in the IDF.

Expressions of joy and support in Jenin after name of Tel Aviv terrorist publicized. Terrorist's father: 'Victory will come soon.'

When the name of the terrorist responsible for the deadly Tel Aviv shooting attack became known, along with the location of his residence, public address systems were heard calling out, "Allahu akhbar," playing "nationalist" songs, and announcing support for the terrorist and the "heroic action" which he carried out in "Tel Al-Rabia," the Arab name for Tel Aviv, the Jewish city founded in 1909 on bare stretches of sand dunes near Jaffa. Terrorist Ra'ad Hazam was eliminated in Jaffa early Friday morning. According to security sources, he did not belong to any terror group.

The announcements on the mosques' public address system were called in the name of the nationalist and Islamic forces, among them the Fatah movement, to which Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas belongs; and the Islamic Jihad and Hamas terror groups.

On one Telegram channel affiliated with Arab terror organizations, terrorist Ra'ad Hazam was called, "the lion of the [Al-Quds] troops," and his name was included in a list of 31 terrorists from the Jenin area "who defended Falastin in the past two years." Also included in the list is Bnei Brak terrorist Dia Hamarsha.

  21. Actor Juliano Mer-Khamis gunned down in Jenin, Oren Kessler and Khaled Abu Toameh, JPost, April 4, 2011.
Prominent Israeli filmmaker and peace activist was the son of a Jewish mother and a Christian Arab father from Nazareth.  Well-known actor, filmmaker and peace activist Juliano Mer-Khamis was shot dead in his car Monday in Jenin, the volatile West Bank city in which he made his home and founded the controversial Freedom Theater. A masked assailant shot Mer-Khamis five times from close range at the entrance to the theater, a Palestinian Authority security source said, adding that a woman who was in the car was lightly wounded... Mer-Khamis was the son of Arna Mer, a Jewish Israeli activist for Palestinian causes, and Saliba Khamis, a Nazareth-born Christian and one of the leaders of the Israeli Communist Party in the 1950s. The filmmaker’s maternal grandfather was Gideon Mer, a Lithuanian-born scientist who pioneered the study of malaria in Mandate- era Palestine. An uncompromising critic of Israel in later life, Mer-Khamis’s mixed parentage meant he spent much of his life straddling both sides of the Green Line. He was born and raised in Nazareth, the hub of Arab life in Galilee, but served as a combat soldier in the elite IDF Paratroopers Brigade and as an adult split his time between Haifa and Jenin... The Jenin refugee camp was the scene of one the fiercest battles of 2002’s Operation Defensive Shield after the IDF determined it to be the home of a “large and varied terrorist infrastructure” and the launch pad for a number of deadly suicide attacks. Mer-Khamis opened the Freedom Theater there in 2006... In a 2009 Reuters interview, Mer-Khamis attributed the opposition to a “ghetto mentality"” and “dictatorship of tradition” built up under Israeli occupation. One of the theater’s cofounders was Zakariya Zubeidi, Jenin chief of the Aksa Martyrs Brigades described in a 2006 Sunday Times profile as “chief strategist of suicide bombers in the camp Israelis refer to as ‘the capital of suicide terrorism.’”.. Mer-Khamis was an outspoken, often strident proponent of Palestinian rights and a fierce critic of Israel. “Armed struggle is legitimate as long as it’s against an occupier and is done on occupied land,” he said in a 2009 press conference at his theater... He consistently rejected the label of “Israeli-Arab,” telling Israel Radio the same year: “I’m 100-percent Palestinian, and 100-percent Jewish.”...
  22. Note: The late “peace activist” Juliano Mer-Khamis advocated for the “peaceful solution” of replacing Israel with a “Palestinian” state.  He believed that such a declaration of fealty to “Palestine” would endear him to the Arab denizens of Judea and Samaria.  But then he announced: “I’m 100-percent Palestinian, and 100-percent Jewish.”  Obviously, his murderers hated the Jew in him more than they loved the Arab in him. -- Mark Rosenblit, 2011

"The Mufti.. concocted a new kind of antisemitism that combined traditional Muslim antisemitism, like the anti-Jewish verses you find in the Koran, with the Nazi antisemitism that demonised Jews... His whole ideology was antisemitic and from the very beginning he targeted Jews, not Zionists."
