On February 10, 2023, at around 1:27 p.m., Hussein Qaraqe [Hossein Karaka / Qaraqa] [حسين كركة], a 31-year-old Arab Islamist "Palestinian" resident of the Issawiya [العيساوية] neighborhood, accelerated his car and crashed into a bus stop at then entrance to the Ramot neighborhood in Jerusalem, while many passengers were waiting there.[1] The Islamist targeted Haredim who overwhelminly do not even serve in the IDF. Most of the victims are members of one ultra-Orthodox family who got off a bus at the station shortly before the attack.[2] Murdering three, two children and a newlywed young man[3] and injuring five.

Ramming attack at Ramot, Jerusalem bus stop, leaves two dead, one a 6-year-old boy, five people injured. Two people were killed and five more injured in a terrorist ramming attack in Jerusalem Friday afternoon.
The attack occurred at 1:27 p.m. Friday at a bus stop in the Ramot neighborhood of the capital.According to preliminary reports, the terrorist rammed his car into a group of pedestrians who were waiting for a bus on Golda Meir Boulevard, on the edge of Ramot near the Tomb of Samuel (Nebi Samuel National Park).
Witnesses say the terrorist, who has been identified as 31-year-old Issawiya resident Hussein Karaka, has been eliminated.
Emergency first responders from MDA and United Hatzalah were dispatched to the scene to treat the injured.
Two children injured in the attack were initially listed in critical condition, with two other victims listed as being seriously injured, and two in moderate condition.
Two of the victims, including a six-year-old boy, later succumbed to their injuries.
"A car hit the people at the bus stop. Volunteers are currently performing CPR on a young boy approximately eight years old," said United Hatzalah CEO Eli Pollack. "Another man in his late 20s is in critical condition. The number of victims of the attack in the Ramot neighborhood rose to three: less than a day after 6-year-old Yaakov Israel Pelli was laid to rest, his brother Asher, who was mortally wounded in the run-over attack, was pronounced dead. Their father was injured. The terrorist was released from a psychiatric hospital before carrying out the attack. 10 members of his family and those around him were arrested, six of them have already been released. The number of those murdered in the attack in the Ramot neighborhood in Jerusalem rose to three: today, during Shabbat, the death of 8-year-old Asher Menachem Pelli, who was mortally wounded in the attack, was determined at Shaare Zedek Hospital. People who witnessed the attack at the Ramot intersection in Jerusalem say that it took a while for the terrorist to be neutralized with gunfire. Medic Yehuda stood up: "The shocking sights brought me back to the attack in the Ramot neighborhood where I was injured." The terrorist who carried out the murderous attack is Hussein Karaka [Qaraqe], a 31-year-old Israeli Arab from Issawiya in East Jerusalem. Images on social media circulated Friday of Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza celebrating a terrorist attack in Jerusalem that left two Israelis dead on Friday morning, just hours before the beginning of Shabbat.
In a video posted to Twitter, a man instructs children in Gaza to hand out pastries to passerby in honor of 31-year-old Hussein Qaraqe, who rammed his car into a bus stop in the East Jerusalem in an attack that killed six-year-old Yaakov Pelli and twenty-year-old newly-wed Alter Shlomo Liderman while injuring five others. Images also purported to show members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) in Khan Yunis, Gaza, distributing sweets...
In the United States, a headline by CNN said “Two dead including child as car rams people at Jerusalem bus stop,” prompting criticism from the Israel Foreign Ministry.

The February 10, 2023 vehicular terror attack in Jerusalem, in which three Israeli civilians were killed and four were wounded, sparked gleeful responses from many Palestinians. An especially callous response was an antimesitic cartoon published by Gazan cartoonist Bahaa Yasin, who is known for his connections to Hamas. Yasin's cartoons have been published in Hamas' mouthpiece Al-Risalah, and his brother, Rashad Yasin, was an operative in Hamas' military wing and was killed in the 2014 round of fighting between Hamas and Israel in Gaza.
Yasin's cartoon, posted on his social media accounts, shows the head of one of the victims of the terror attack, Shlomo Alter Lederman, resting on a plate of maqlouba, a traditional Palestinian dish. The Palestinian family sitting around the plate, about to enjoy the meal, says "A wonderful Friday and a great Palestinian maqlouba."
The cartoon, which was later deleted from Yasin's accounts, evoked responses and inspired imitations on social media. A Gazan Twitter user posted a short video showing a dish of maqlouba with a photo of the murdered Israeli leaning against it, with the comment "The Palestinian maqlouba has left Jerusalem. How far will it go?"
This is not the first time Yasin has published cartoons extoling the murder of Jews. In November 2021 he posted a cartoon praising Hamas terrorist Fadi Abu Shkhaydam, who had perpetrated a shooting near the Western Wall in Jerusalem earlier that month in which one Israeli civilian was killed and four were wounded.
