Election medling
Eric Schmidt, then CEO of Alphabet, funded the startup Groundwork to ensure Hillary Clinton had the engineering talent needed to win the 2016 presidential election. The Groundwork in 2015 boasted it could influence the vote in any democratic election anywhere in the world as much as 25%, highlighting the search engine manipulation effect.[2] Schmidt and Google are both donors to the Clinton Foundation.
