Amish in Illinois are mostly in central Illinois, such as Douglas County in Central-Eastern Illinois.[1]
Arthur, Illinois, which has about 2,200 residents 10 miles west of I-57 off exit 203, is located in the middle of Illinois Amish Country. The Amish community began in 1865 and has grown to population of more than 1,000 families and 4,500 members.[2]
