Ancient history can be defined as all that happened from the creation of the world until AD 600. Ancient history describes the creation of many civilizations and many great intellectual breakthroughs. Advances in literature, drama, mathematics, philosophy, and language are just a few of the things which the ancient peoples passed on to succeeding generations. Much of the modern culture and political ideals in western thought can be traced to Ancient Greece.
