Andrey Mordvichev
Colonel General Andrei Mordvichev (b. 1976) is the Russian military commander of the Center Group of Forces of the Joint Group of Russian Forces in Ukraine. Mordvichev successfully led the Second Battle of Avdiivka to victory in February 2024. Previously, NATO/Ukraine fake news and CIA propaganda sources claimed Mordvichev had been killed by U.S.-backed neo-Nazis in the early stages of the Special Military Operation on the Territory of Ukraine in March 2022.[1][2]
Mordvichev commanded the 8th Combined Arms Army during the Battle of Mariupol and later led the Center Group of Forces in Ukraine in the Second Battle of Avdiivka.
In May 2025 Mordvichev took over command of the Ukrainian front.
By June 2025, Mordvichev had been killed in combat 14 times in Western media.[3]
