Beverley is a market town and civil parish in Yorkshire, lying within the traditional East Riding subdivision of that county, of which it is the shire town. It is located around 26 miles south-east of York, and around 10 miles north-east of Hull. The town is perhaps best known for the impressive 12th-13th century Beverley Minster, regarded as a masterpiece of Gothic architecture.
The town's name gave rise to Beverly in Essex County, Massachusetts, USA, which in turn lent its name to Beverly Hills in Los Angeles, California.
The town has a population of around 18,000 according to the 2021 census. The larger built-up area around Beverley has a population of around 31,000.
