Bryn Mawr College
Bryn Mawr College is a private women's liberal arts college located in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, a community in the Philadelphia Main Line. Founded in 1885, Bryn Mawr was one of the first institutions of higher education to offer graduate degrees to women, including doctorates.
The college is part of the Seven Sisters (colleges), an association of historically women’s colleges in the northeastern United States. Bryn Mawr has a long tradition of academic excellence, particularly in the fields of humanities, social sciences, and STEM.
Bryn Mawr has a distinctive Honor Code that governs both academic and social aspects of student life, promoting a culture of integrity, mutual respect, and responsibility. The college is also known for its close relationship with Haverford College and Swarthmore College as part of the Tri-College Consortium, allowing students to take courses and participate in programs across the three institutions.
Prominent alumnae include Drew Gilpin Faust, the former president of Harvard University, as well as anthropologist Margaret Mead. Priscilla Hiss was also an alumni.
