The Maui fires are wildfires ignited simultaneously in early August 2023 on the island of Maui, Hawaii, causing its deadliest disaster since statehood.

These fires killed a reported 80 people as of Aug. 12, 2023. The historic, picturesque coastal town of Lahaina has been nearly entirely destroyed.

Only 1% of fires in Hawaii arise naturally, and in the United States 85% of wildfires are man-made.[1]

The quick political exploitation by liberals of these fires to point fingers at global warming, and the delay by the Biden Administration in announcing the real cause, raise suspicions that radical environmentalists may have set these fires for political gain. Weeks after these fires began, the Biden Administration has failed to even request or initiate an investigation.[2] Most victims and observers blamed the disaster on the incompetence of Democrat administrations, federal, state, and local.[3] Rep. Byron Donalds credited "Green New Deal stuff."[4]

Similarity to Canadian wildfires

The unprecedented wildfires in Canada were likewise ignited almost simultaneously, and the Leftist government there has not disclosed the cause.[5] As in relation to the Maui fires, environmentalists and socialists likewise immediately seized on the unusual Canadian wildfires to promote their agenda of global warming alarmism.

Attempt to blame electric utility

A deep pocket on Hawaii is the Hawaiian Electric Industries Inc., and already lawyers are seeking to blame it for the fires which would unleash billions of dollars in damages. "Lawyers Probe Power Lines," writes Bloomberg Law.[6]

Maui land grab

Hawaii's seafront is the most expensive real estate on the planet apart from the city of London. Real estate prices on Maui typically are three times higher than in the continental United States. Globalist oligarchs Oprah Winfrey owns 807 acres on Maui, and Jeff Bezos owns 14 acres; both properties are within an hour's drive of where the fires occurred.

Within days a rush was on to buy up the land from victims.[7] None of the billionaire oligarchs offered help or relief to their neighbors until after being exposed in the media, although Winfrey did appear at a Red Cross shelter to offer condolences to victims.
