Buttered cat paradox

The buttered cat paradox is a humorous take involving two supposed "facts":

• Buttered bread, if dropped, will always land buttered side down.
• Cats always land on their feet.

The "paradox" involves an "experiment" whereby a piece of buttered bread is strapped to a cat (with the buttered side facing upwards, away from the cat), then the cat is dropped from a sufficient height. Notwithstanding the complaints to be received from PETA for "animal abuse", one of three things would happen:

1. The cat lands on its feet, thus disproving the "buttered bread fact".

2. The cat lands with the buttered bread on the floor, thus disproving the "cat always landing on its feet fact".

3. The cat enters a continual steady state of rotation as the two "facts" attempt to disprove each other.
