Copium

The Urban Dictionary defines copium as,

  • lying to yourself in order to cope with something.
  • a metaphorical opiate inhaled when faced with loss, failure or defeat, especially in sports, politics and other tribal settings.

The effects of copium include, but are not limited to: extreme rationalizations for the defeat, outlandish theories of conspiracy supposedly perpetrated by the opposing side, extreme rage directed at the other side, etc.

This term has, in recent times, been used cynically by defeatist fair-weather "conservatives" (i.e. those who choose to throw in the towel when faced with adversity) to describe those who refuse to give in to defeat and choose to remain in the fight against tyrannical leftism and the atrocities it commits.
