The DC Cinematic Universe, also called the DC Extended Universe, or DCEU, is a series of films produced by Warner Bros. featuring characters from DC Comics, similar to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It began with the 2013 film, Man of Steel.

Criticism

Fans and critics alike have criticized how the DCEU is being handled. Unlike Marvel, which used five films to build up The Avengers, DC is going right into Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice from Man of Steel, which is a reboot of the Superman series. Many see this as DC trying to catch up to Marvel.
