DIBELS® (Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills) is a liberal testing system used by some public schools to evaluate reading skills in young children. It purports to identify early difficulties that could benefit from prompt instructional intervention.
DIBELS relies on nonsense words that are fake. DIBELS Nonsense Word Fluency (NWF) supposedly measures the alphabetic principle.
