Denison, Texas is a city in Grayson County.
It (along with Sherman, Texas, the county seat) are the major cities in an area of Texas commonly known as Texoma (because of their location near Lake Texoma, so named because it is on the Texas-Oklahoma border).
Denison is famous for being the hometown of three famous individuals:
- Thomas V. Munson (who's work with viticulture saved the French wine industry)
- Dwight Eisenhower (Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces and later President of the United States; his birthplace is now a Texas State Historical Site)
- Chesley B. "Sully" Sullenberger (pilot of US Airways Flight 1549 which he safely landed in the Hudson River with no loss of life)
