Bust of Domitian

Domitian Roman Emperor from 81 to 96 A.D. Son of the Emperor Vespasian and brother of the Emperor Titus, Domitian took over the Emperorship upon the death of his brother. Considered to be a difficult man and a poor ruler with questionable morals, he also enacted the first heavy persecution of Christians since Nero later in his reign. The Apostle John's exile to the island of Patmos took place under Domitian and many believe he wrote the book of Revelation around 95 A.D. during Domitian's reign.
