Eugene B. Watson, Sr. (November 7, 1873 – December 10, 1938), was a timber baron and politician from St. Helena Parish in southeastern Louisiana.

Watson served as sheriff of St. Helena Parish from 1900 to 1908, when he became the District 10 state senator[1] for St. Helena and Tangipahoa parishes, a post he held for one term until 1912.[2] Under Governors Jared Young Sanders, Sr., Huey Pierce Long, Jr., and Oscar Kelly Long, Watson held these positions: warden of the Louisiana State Penitentiary  at Angola in West Feliciana Parish, livestock commissioner, and insurance commissioner, respectively.[1]

He was the president of Watson Sand and Gravel Company and the co-manager of Hyde and Watson Lumber Company, both in Fluker in neighboring Tangipahoa Parish. In 1902, Watson wed the former Mary Cornelia “Mamie” Hyde; the couple had a son, Eugene, Jr.,[1] who held the District 10 state senate seat from 1944 to 1948, thirty-two years after his father vacated the position.[2] Watson was struck by a locomotive and killed in Fluker at the age of sixty-five.[1]
