Landslide victory
From Conservapedia
A landslide victory is achieved when a political candidate achieves an overwhelming majority of votes or seats in an election. Examples of historic landslide victories include those achieved by the UK Tory Party Margaret Thatcher and Boris Johnson in the 1979 and 2019 UK general elections respectively.
In the United States, several presidents have won victory in a landslide, such as:
- Ronald Reagan's re-election in 1984 (taking every state except Minnesota; he also did not take the District of Columbia), and
- Donald Trump's election to a 2nd non-consecutive term in 2024 (winning all seven "swing states" in the process)
