The M25, or the London Orbital Motorway, is a 117-mile motorway in the counties of Kent, Surrey, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Middlesex and Essex in south-eastern England. It forms a near-complete circle around the London built-up area, with the circle being interrupted by 5 miles at the Dartford Crossing of the River Thames. The road most notably serves Heathrow Airport; the M25 at Heathrow is among the busiest sections of motorway in the United Kingdom, with 200,000 vehicles using the road daily at Heathrow. Traffic on the M25 accounts for approximately 15% of the UK's total motorway traffic.
