NCAA and transgenders

The NCAA and transgenders is a policy that has allowed biological men to compete in women's sports since at least 2022. The policy was made more restrictive but as of May 2024 dozens of transgender athletes continue to compete in this manner:

The NCAA’s policy was revised in 2022 to align “transgender student-athlete participation with the Olympic Movement.” The association takes a sport-by-sport approach, which allows trans players to participate if they have undergone one year of testosterone suppression treatment and meet the testosterone level required by their sport’s national or international governing body.[1]

It should be noted that the NAIA, a much smaller group of collegiate athletic programs, passed a policy in April 2024 prohibiting biological men from competing in women's sports (they are only permitted to compete on co-educational teams, such as cheerleading).
