Osteoporosis is a weakening of the bones due to calcium loss.[1] It is a condition typically found in the elderly. It is more frequent in women than in men, but both may occur. There are no symptoms until a break of a bone occurs, so annual testing is recommended for those over a certain age. The condition is treated by ensuring adequate dietary calcium and through the use of drugs which increase calcium deposition.[2]
