Overtrousers are a trouser-like garment designed to be worn over one's regular trousers, or pants. Generally, they have a protective function, either protecting the legs and pants from liquids (waterproof overtrousers), or from dirt, or from abrasive substances, or from hazardous chemicals.

Overtrousers are worn in many industrial situations, such as by mechanics or factory or laboratory workers. They are also used by hobbyists performing a wide range of outdoor activities, such as birdwatching, fishing, hiking and hunting.
