Pertussis

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Vaccines and Immunizations Glossary, Pertussis, also known as "whooping cough," is a "bacterial infectious disease marked by a convulsive spasmodic cough, sometimes followed by a crowing intake of breath."[1]
