Peter Loves Mary (TV series)
Peter Loves Mary is a largely forgotten situation comedy television series which aired on NBC in the 1960-61 season. In the story line, fictitious nightclub entertainers Peter and Mary Lindsey leave New York City for Oakdell in the Connecticut suburbs, where Peter finds life on the dull side. The character "Peter" is played by Peter Lind Hayes (1915-1998), a native of San Francisco, California. The "Mary" is his real-life wife, Mary Healy (1918-2015), who was born in New Orleans, Louisiana.[1]
Bea Benaderet (1906-1968), three years before her role as Kate Bradley on Petticoat Junction on CBS, was cast as the Lindseys' housekeeper Wilma, The children, Leslie and Steve, are played by Merry Martin (born 1950) and Gil Smith (born 1954). Herbert Ellis (1921-2018) played Lou Porter in seven episodes. The series revolved around the family's personal lives.
