Presleys' Country Jubilee

Presleys' Country Jubilee is a comedy and country, bluegrass, and gospel music show, the first live entertainment program, established in 1967, on the Highway 76 "Strip" in the resort city of Branson, Missouri. The program is laden with conservative and patriotic themes.[1] Presley's Country Jubilee is also the name of a half-hour program which the entertainers perform at 7:30 p.m. Eastern on Saturdays on the RFD-TV cable network.[2]
The Presleys are not related to singer Elvis Presley but are an Ozarks musical family now in the fourth generation of entertainers. Family partriarch Gary D. Presley (born July 8, 1947)[3] appears in comedy skits as "Herkimer", with his son, Eric (born August 10, 1976)[4], using the stage name "Cecil." Committed to gospel, the Presleys' great-great-grandfather founded one of the first Pentecostal churches in Missouri. The early Presleys played in nearby caves, but as the audiences grew, a permanent theater was constructed.[1] During intermission and after the performance, cast members visit with the audience.[5]
Television host Regis Philbin said of Presley's Country Jubilee: "It's the one Branson show you've got to see.[2]
