Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor (b. 1960) is the third child and second son of Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. He is also commonly known as Andrew formerly known as Prince[1] and previously Prince Andrew, Duke of York, until his older brother King Charles III began a process to strip Mountbatten-Windsor of his titles amidst pressure relating to his controversial relationship with billionaire sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew was also ordered to leave the Royal Lodge.[2] When questioned in a Netfilx documentary about his friendship with Epstein, Andrew was criticised for commenting "I don’t know why people are so fascinated [...], after all I knew Jimmy Savile far more".[3]

As Duke of York, Andrew held meetings with Chinese Communist Party spy Cai Qi, with close ties to Xi Jinping, at least three times in 2018 and 2019.[4]

In February 2026 Andrew was arrested on his birthday in the Epstein scandal.
