A province is usually a large territory of land within a larger country or kingdom. Canada, the Netherlands and Belgium are examples of countries that have provinces[1].

A Church province can mean a archdiocese and one or more dioceses. [2] It can also mean a division of a religious order headed by a Superior, Mother, or an Abbot
