Renaissance Man is a term for a man who is learned and accomplished in many subjects, as was considered ideal during the Renaissance. Leonardo da Vinci is considered the epitome of the universal genius. In US history, outstanding figures who are considered Renaissance men include Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin.
