Rupa Huq is a far-left racist UK-based politician. She serves as the Labour Party MP for the London constituency of Ealing and Central Acton.

She is best known as the sister of TV host Connie Huq and, in more recent years, for her antisemitic attacks on Israel and racist abuse of Conservative politicians.

History

On 14 April 2016, Huq feebly attempted to cancel BBC sitcom Citizen Khan, claiming the show to be "Islamophobic" despite it being created by Adil Ray, a Muslim, and being generally popular with Muslim viewers.[1]

In May 2016, Huq became the subject of some antisemitism allegations. Huq suggested that Labour, if elected to government, should apologize for Britain's role in crating the nation state of Israel in 1948.[2][3]

On 27 September 2022, Rupa Huq described Black British UK Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng as "superficially black",[4] adding that "if you hear him on the Today Programme, you wouldn’t know he is black." These racist remarks were roundly condemned in the UK. Conservative political commentator Rev. Calvin Robinson said that Huq’s statements exemplified "racist tropes which are increasingly popular amongst the hard-Left” that “a person’s skin colour should determine their thought process, their politics and their opinions".[5] Even far-left Muslim London mayor Sadiq Khan condemned the remarks as racist, saying that it implies that "all black people speak a certain way and all black people are working class".
