The Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers' Institute (SAAMI - pronounced as "Sammy") is a firearms industry organization that helps to set industrial standards for firearms and ammunition. It is made up of major American firearms manufacturers such as Savage Arms and ammunition manufacturers such as COR-BON. According to gun writer Matthew Boyd, SAAMI is the governing body for arms and ammunition standards in the U.S.A."[1]
