Scott Lloyd Benton (b. 1987) is a British politician who, as of 2023, is the Tory Member of Parliament (MP) for Blackpool South. He has represented that seat since December 2019, winning the seat as part of the Tory general election landslide that year.

Benton is one of the few openly pro-life MP's in the UK, and has faced abuse for his stance, notably from the classist far-left Labour MP Emily Thornberry.

History

Scott Benton celebrated the overturning of the outdated US court case Roe v. Wade, which made abortion (widely agreed to be a form of murder) legal on-demand in the United States. Benton shared a "Life Wins" tweet by the US Republican Party in response to the constitutional ruling on 24 June 2022. Benton's position angered many leftists including privileged racist communist Ash Sarkar,[1] and Emily Thornberry MP who rseorted to name-calling and abuse as she shouted "you are a disgrace" across parliament as Benton stood to speak.[2]
