Selkirkshire

Selkirkshire (Scottish Gaelic: Siorrachd Shalcraig) is a landlocked traditional county in the Southern Uplands of Scotland. The county borders Peeblesshire to the west, Midlothian to the north, Berwickshire to the north-east, Roxburghshire to the east, and Dumfriesshire to the south. The county has an area of around 270 square miles, and a population of around 18,000. The county town and namesake of Selkirkshire is the royal burgh of Selkirk.
