:::::I think you will fail, because the word ''run'' has a different meaning in different contexts, and it is impossible to find a unique foreign word that would fit in all these different contexts. You see, semantic fields in language A hardly ever overlap entirely with corresponding semantic fields in language B. ::::::Actually, your argument doesn't apply in my case, because I never supported apply formal equivalence with regards to suffixes and tenses. I am only applying formal equivalence to the root words themselves, not to tense, grammar, and suffixes. I try to have the same Hebrew word "rabah" translated with a root word of "increase" all throughout the Bible, for example:
+
::::::Good point about how a single word can carry different connotations. However, the Hebrew language as seen in the Bible only uses 8-9 thousand words as opposed to the 1-2 million of the English language. It would make sense then that every single word choice in Hebrew was carefully made and individually selected for accurate translation by future generations. For the most part I don't see this phenomenon in the Bible where a single word is used different ways in the way that an English counterpart cannot be. If you know of a single word where this is the case I'd like to see it. --[[User:JZambrano|Joshua Zambrano]] 09:09, 4 September 2012 (EDT)

::::::However, depending on the sentence structure, it can be written increase, the increase, increased, or increasingly. I support changing tense and suffixes as appropriate to avoid being too rigid, and allow for easy readability. I also am putting in conjunctions like are, but, or, and the (which I do think is a conjunction) as necessary to link words, although I try to keep this minimal. At any rate, I'm not trying to be that rigid with regards to tense and suffixes. I'm just trying to make sure the Strong's lexicon root words are translated the same throughout the Bible, and adopting a "change as needed" approach to tenses, suffixes, and conjunctions.

::::::You do provide interesting points and an informative article relating to formal vs. dynamic equivalence, but they don't quite apply to the translation I'm making right now given its idiosyncracies. --[[User:JZambrano|Joshua Zambrano]] 09:09, 4 September 2012 (EDT)
