The Bible doesn't explain why God saw fit to punish Adam & Eve for disobeying Him (by eating the Forbidden Fruit & thus gaining the knowledge of Good & Evil) when it's clear Adam & Eve couldn't have known that disobeying God was wrong ( evil) until after they had eaten the fruit.
Traditionally, the Forbidden Fruit has been depicted in art and other visual media (movies, cartoons, etc.) as an apple, though the Bible does not identify it as such.
